Was ist Carnosin?
Carnosin ist ein einfaches Dipeptid, bestehend aus den Aminosäuren Alanin und Histidin. Diese Proteine stammen hauptsächlich aus tierischen Produkten und sind Teil unserer normalen Ernährung.
Carnosin bindet und eliminiert schädliche Substanzen durch Komplexbildung (Chelatisierung). Es wirkt als Puffer in unseren Muskeln und schützt sie vor Übermüdung. In Bezug auf den Alterungsprozess hilft Carnosin, die Verkürzung der Telomere zu reduzieren. Außerdem fängt Carnosin laut Forschung freie Radikale ab und wirkt somit als Antioxidans.
Zusätzlich verhindert es die Neubildung von AGE's und ALE's.
Function of Carnosine
Carnosine has many functions in the body . It binds and eliminates harmful substances by chelation (complex formation). In the muscles, carnosine acts as a buffer that absorbs acidic end products of muscle contraction during exercise. This protects the muscles from over-fatigue, strengthens their function and prevents possible failure. Carnosine also helps reduce telomere shortening and scavenges reactive oxygen and nitrogen species, the main culprits in the aging process .
Particularly promising is carnosine's effect on AGE's , molecules that are formed by chronic sugar exposure and lose their original function. Carnosine counteracts this process and thus slows down the aging process . Studies show that carnosine is associated with an extension of health span and life span, thanks to its positive effects on telomere attrition, inflammaging and proteostasis.
Dosierung
VERZEHREMPFEHLUNG
Wir empfehlen, täglich 1000 mg Carnosin-Pulver einzunehmen. Dazu einfach 2 Messlöffel mit je 500 mg in einem Glas Wasser auflösen und idealerweise zum Mittagessen trinken.
Studien haben gezeigt, dass der Carnosin-Spiegel im Körper nach einer regelmäßigen Supplementierung über 10-12 Wochen um 80% ansteigt (R, R). Nach dem "Carnosin-Loading" bleibt der Spiegel trotz einer Pause bei der Supplementierung bestehen. Da der Carnosin-Gehalt nur sehr langsam (ca. 2-4% pro Woche) sinkt, hält der Effekt zwischen 10 und 20 Wochen an.
